Hello my fellow travelers and welcome to Seeking Neverland! The fact you have made it here tells me you are not only AWESOME but in search of new adventures, and new adventures we shall have. My name is Allison and I’m a travelholic. Phew, that felt good to get off my chest! Any-who, there is much to know about me, but I prefer to ease you into the craziness of my so-called life, so I’ll start with some basic introductions.
FOR STARTERS, I’m a born and raised Vegas girl on the endless pursuit of epic adventures!
Of course traveling is a gigantic part of my life, but the other part is usually spent buying shoes, befriending dogs, and waiting for my Hogwarts letter to arrive.
Here are a few other fun facts:
Favorite Movie: Under the Tuscan Sun
Life Goals: Travel to every country and become a Club 33 member.
Favorite Color: Red (and white)
Most Memorable Travel Moment to Date: Starting the biggest game of flip cup at the Delirium Bar in Brussels with people from all over the world. What started with me and my two friends soon became tables and tables being pushed together and cheers roaring all around the bar. It was seriously cool!
Favorite Food: Macarons
Why do I love to travel?
Simply stated, I believe it is better to see something once then to hear about it a thousand times. Besides, it is so important for people to step outside their comfort zones at least once. Not only to appreciate themselves, but to understand that we are NOT all alike and that that is a beautiful thing!
What sparked my crazy travel obsession?
Ahh yes the summer of 2013. Not to say I didn’t love traveling before, but 2013 was a game changer. I went on my first ever backpacking trip to Europe for 5 weeks and all I could say was WOW! Seeing things I’ve never seen before and meeting people from such different backgrounds gave me a whole new gratification. Needless to say I’ve been hooked ever since!
How did Seeking Neverland come to be?
Fast forward to 2014. I finally finished my degree and landed a big girl job. It seemed like the normal thing to do and assumed I would be happy. Key word “assumed”. Reality hit hard when I realized I was the furthest thing from normal.
More like 70% crazy and 30% sane.
I quickly grew unhappy with just about everything in my life. Everything except traveling. I spent the next year and a half thinking long and hard over countless glasses of wine about my future until finally, the lightbulb went off! I figured since most of my free time was spent escaping to other places then DUH ALLISON, why not start a travel blog? Thus the birth of Seeking Neverland.
A personally crafted site made with my love of traveling and endless desire to educate and inspire others to seek adventure in their own lives
My mission is not just to inspire you to book a weekend getaway somewhere, but rather to change the way you see the world and think about other cultures. That is when I know by job is truly done. Keep reading to find out more about what Seeking Neverland has to offer. . .
Here you will find ALL the destinations I’ve traveled to thus far. The topics here vary depending on what each unique destination had to offer during my visit. Isn’t that the point of exploring? You never know what each destination holds.
This section serves one purpose. To provide you with information that will ensure you travel smarter and make the most of your time. Of course we cannot control everything, but at least minimize the risk of vacation disaster by following these tips. You will be traveling like a pro in no time.
Sometimes we travel with a specific interest in mind. The Interest section serves as a handy-dandy navigation tool for specific travel topics. Want to know where to the best bars and restaurants are? Going to a music festival? Find all those specific topics and more here. Oh, and don’t be surprised by the range of interests, for I am woman of many hats.
The lifestyle section is a smaller addition where I share insight into the world of travel blogging, how I afford travel, and stories of my life as an expat. Whether your are a travel blogger looking to grow your online presence, looking to save for travel, or planning a move abroad there is something for you here.
