Are you looking for some travel inspiration? The one place I will ALWAYS recommend is Copenhagen. It’s my favourite city in the world: there are so many things to do, and it’s not too touristy either (probably because it’s perceived to be expensive – when it’s actually not really). You won’t regret booking your flights to the Danish capital!
Here are just some of the things you should do when you’re there…
Shop on Strøget
Scandi fashion is seriously cool, and Copenhageners always look effortlessly chic in their black-on-black ensembles. Strøget is the largest pedestrianised street in Europe, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself spending the whole day here shopping whilst in Copenhagen!
Situated here and around the backstreets, you’ll find Danish brands and department stores including Illum, Samsøe & Samsøe and Wood Wood, as well as Scandi high street brands like Monki, & Other Stories and Vero Moda.
Love fairgrounds? Then you NEED to visit Tivoli. Located right in the heart of the city centre, there are so many rides to enjoy, and food stalls to check out. Even if you don’t like rides, you should check it out – there are themed sections to the park, including one area that looks like China, and a hotel that’s a replica of the Taj Mahal.
Tivoli Gardens is open from April to December, and in the evenings during the summer, they have firework displays!
Sample the cocktails
The cocktail scene in Copenhagen is seriously strong, and it’s worth spending a few extra Krone for a decent cocktail. Check out my favourite bars in Copenhagen here. If I could recommend just one place, it would be 1105. Tucked away off Strøget, you’d be forgiven for walking past this place – but if you take the time to find it, then you’re certainly in for a treat…
Get a pastry to go with your drink!
Denmark is famed for their world-class pastries, and you’re sure to have a good time trying a few when you’re in Copenhagen. From cinnamon and chocolate, to nut and fruit – there’s a pastry for everyone. Stuck for where to go? Get yourself to Lagkaghuset and order yourself a Direktørsnegl NOW!
